Referencing cells in closed workbooks

I am trying to reference a cell in a closed workbook from a date in an
open workbook. The closed file name is based on a date such as
Mnly0106.xls for January 2006 data. What is the best way of
referencing cells in closed workbooks?
 
=[Mnly0106.xls]Sheet1!$A$1

Change Sheet and cell names as needed.........
