What does this error mean? Is there a way to prevent it
from ending up in my worksheet functions?\

Hi Alex
looks like you're having a 'bad' cell reference (see Excel helpfile).
It would be helpful if you post the formula which creates this error.

If you click the Index tab in Excel Help, "#REF! error value" is very near
the top. Here you can read about possible causes and suggested actions. It's
always worth looking in Help before posting to the newsgroup.
