Reducing all programs menu clutter

In my old Windows ME computer, when I went to start menu and all programs, it
often displayed only the most recently used program. I could then hit a
little arrow icon at the bottom, and all of the programs would be listed.

Is there a way I can do so in XP as well, so I don't see every program on
the computer each time?

Thanks.

Try this:

Right-click the Taskbar, and choose Properties
Click the tab named Start Menu
Assuming Classic Start Menu is selected, click Customize
In the Advanced Start Menu options, check Use Personalized Menus
Mine is set this way and only the recently used Programs show up.

Thanks DL.

I don't have any problems with the number of programs in the start menu
itself. I am referring to when I click on "all programs." Then, I see every
program on the machine. On my old computer, as I said, in that view it would
limit the programs shown to those I've used lately, with the rest hidden
unless I clicked on the arrow at the bottom of the display.
