Reduced functions in trial version

I have just downloaded the new trial version of Word 2007, and would like to
try it out. I opened a report that I need to update, and find that I can't
copy and past and can't insert a picture. Is this because it is a trial
version? If so, I can not try it. These are basic functions in my work, and
it's pretty useless to me if I can't do these things. Is there something
else I can do to activiate these for the trial?

I entered the long number that they sent me. Was there something else I
needed to do to activate it?
