Redirected Link ??

On XP, IE 6 there is a site which I could previously go, Now that link
redirects me to an unrelated search engine site. When I access the site on
another PC it works fine (not redirected).

How can I find/remove/fix ?
Is there some kind of script installed without my knowledge? I scanned with
AdAware, NAV and found nothing.

Thanx in advance.

I have run into the same problem from Windows 2000. For
example, If I try to go to www.UPS.com, I get a search
engine website
http://data.cybersearching.net/apps/eps/eps.cgi?
cid=newn6CPZ&dp_lp=16&dp_p4pid=oingo_inclusion_xml_19&dp_fo
rmat=1.3&s=www.ups.com&nnreq=20fa443bfe8ecccab338fddf5dda87
16&prt=NN100
This thing pops up for all sorts of valid web sites. The
way I found to work around is to use the drop down box
arrow and select the history www.UPS.com and then I get
where I want to go. This is still a pain and I wish I
could make is stop. Somebody please help me!!!

This is becoming a common hijack, and in fact there is a
lawsuit about one version of this that is being
perpetrated by an ISP... but that's not your subject,
probably.

The probable cause of your problem is a change to your
HOST file - which contains address mappings. Some of
the "spyware" breed of tools these days will add entries
to your HOST file which will redirect requests to one
site, to another - essentially hijacking the site on your
machine. There are programs that will check this for you
(you can look for spyware blockers) and you can check it
yourself.

If it's not that, it could very well be something going
on online. For instance, there are ISP's redirecting
traffic, and there are sites that, once they fail to pay
their rent for their web addy, can get purchased by a
competitor, and then redirected. Most likely though,
it's your host file.

If an *updated* Ad-aware didn't help, try Spybot - Search & Destroy from
http://security.kolla.de/ Spybot is more aggressive. Be careful. Know what
you're deleting.

Search for your HOSTS file and look for any redirect entries. Put a "# "
(pound-space) in front of suspicious entries and File> Save.

Or a search on the sites name at www.google.com will often lead right to the
removal information you need.
