Redirect to Update.micorosoft.com

on a windows 2003 server SP-1, Every couple times/days when I.E. is started
the home page does not come up. Instead it is redirected to
Update.microsoft.com. Is it possilbe to disable this redirect?
 
IE Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > Automatically check for IE updates (uncheck)
