Redirect the "my documents folder" which is now my username

All,

I know before it was very easy to change the targeting of the "my documents"
shortcut on the desktop. Now, there doesn't seem to be a right click option.

When I open the folder it takes me to what I can only call my user root. I
want to redirect it to "documents". Any suggestions or ideas?

Hi Johnathon :)

Folders in Vista that are named with "My", such as "My Documents" (like in
XP), are not actually real folders. If you look closely you will see they
are somewhat transparent and have a shortcut arrow on them. They are
called "junctions" and they are only there to redirect folders/files from
where they were located in XP to the new folders set up
in Vista. That is why they will not have the same Properties as they do in
XP when you right click on them. The default storage for files in Vista is
the User folder, that is why you are being redirected to that folder from
the My Documents folder.

Hope this helps.

Right click on "Documents". Click on the Location tab. Browse to the folder
where you want them stored and click on Move.
