red x instead of graphics

I recently changed from dial up to dsl. Now when I go to
websites I get the red x instead of the graphic that is
supposed to be on the site. All I can figure is if I go
under encoding and switch from Western Europe (ISO) to
Western Europe (Windows) it will fix the problem. But if
for example I start on ebay, change the encoding, go to a
different site, then return to ebay I have the same
problem and have to change the encoding again. The tech
support for my internet provider said I will just have to
change it every time I visit a site but that can't be
correct. I am thinking there is something I can change in
my settings or something that it will go back to how it
was before and just load each page correctly the first
time. Please give me any ideas you may have. Thank you.
