Red X in corner no applets

I have just purchased a new computer. Running XP. I use
Lotus Notes for Company email, and where the
following "buttons" used to be, send, delete, save, etc. I
now get a box with a red x, and an error message
about "applets" used to work fine on my old machine.
This makes my email at home useless. I can receive email,
but I can reply forward delete, etc. any suggestions. You
could reply to myt email (e-mail address removed)
