Recyle Bin - Auto empty

Is there a (free!) WIN XP utility/tweak that will auto-empty my recycle bin
upon exit of XP?

Thanks for any ideas.

Nik.

You can set the recycle bin to NOT save files upon deletion. That way you
don't have to worry about removing from recycle bin.

Right click on recycle bin icon. Click properties. Place check mark in Do
not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.

If this is checked and the box for Display delete confirmation dialog is not
checked you can delete files without any warning and without easy hope of
recovery. On the computer that I have set for no recycle bin use I always
check the Display delete confirmation dialog to help prevent my
inadvertently deleting a file.

You can run Disk Cleanup (%SystemRoot%\System32\cleanmgr.exe)
automatically each time you boot by putting a shortcut to it in
your startup folder.

Thanks Guys

I have both options open to me. I think I may go for the "cleanup on
startup" option, as I like the "safety net" there, just in case!

Thanks again

Nik.

You're welcome. Glad to help.

The only problem with this method is the time it will take your computer to
boot each time. Try running from Start/Run then type cleanmgr and press
enter to see how long it takes to scan your drive. Also if you have more
than one drive physically in the system it will ask which drive to scan for
cleanup. I have not found any way to "preassign" a drive for a scan yet.
