I can't delete a file from the recycle bin. When tried I
get Message: Cannot delete Dc574: It is being used by
another person or program. C.ose any programs that might
be using and try again. What can I do to delete this file?

find out which program uses the file. If it is an exe file
then press ctrl-alt-del find in processes the name of the
file kill the process etc.

then delete the file.

one more option...
start your comp in safe mode
when xp is about to boot some time befoe the logo comes....
press f8

then choose safe mode.

now try and delete the file

if that does not work...

kill all processes one bye one (kill svchost in the end...)

donot kill explorer!

you should not kill rpc if you do you will have some time
before the comp shuts down any way.

during this time when no process is running delete the file.

check your comp for viruses any way...
