Recycle bin "empty"

Cecil

After two years using Windows XP Home, my recycle bin
suddently contains deleted files but nothing shows when
the recycle bin is opened. I know it contains items
because upon clicking "empty recycle bin" a dialog box
ask for confirmation to remove and I do not have
the "bypass recycle bin" enabled....Help, thanks

Cecil,

IMPORTANT: All the files deleted previously [present in the R.Bin] will be erased permanently.

Create a dummy notepad document and save it. Delete the file and let it go to recycle bin.
Now, empty recycle-bin

Solution 2: You may want to delete the Recycled folder or follow Kelly Theriot's repair solution. (Deleting the info2 file). That should definitely solve it. You may need to restart Windows after that.
