Recreate Documents Folder in Favorite Links

Steven Michael

Hi,
I had set the documents folder to be Drive D, using the customize feature
and moving the location. When I clicked on the Documents folder in the
Favorite Links section of explorer, it said the shortcut was no longer valid
and asked if I wanted to delete the shortcut. So I did.
Now I have no link icon to the Documents folder. Can I recreate this folder
somehow? I tried to create a new shortcut in the c:\users folder, but it was
just an ordinary shortcut, with the drive icon. It was not a virtual folder.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

You can just drag the Documents folder into the Favorite Links pane, either
by dragging it from the main Explorer window, or dragging it from the
Navigation Pane (under the Favorite Links), and a new shortcut will
automatically be created. A tooltip as you drag will show you what's
happening. Or, you can make a shortcut, and put it in C:\Users\(Your
Name)\Links, where the shortcuts for Favorite Links are stored.

Thanks, that worked. Just had to change the icon as windows used the drive
icon.
