Recovery of files after Emptying the recycle bin

Dave

Is there any way to recover a deleted file after it has
been purged from the recycle bin. I had an achive pst file
and did not realize that i had no backups of that data. I
moved it to the recycle bin and then purged it. Do I have
any options?

Yes.... and no......
Deleting the files, as opposed to erasing or overwriting the files
doesn't remove them from the hard drive. It simply tells the system
that the space where the file is/was is now available. I use an
inexpensive util called filesaver to pull back accidentally deleted
files. Might take some looking for tho as the name is damn near
generic. There are other utils to bring your files back from the
dead. The prices vary. Do a search for undelete or filesaver.

Problem is... every time you boot the computer, access the drive, etc,
you run the risk of overwriting the file you are looking to get back.
After all, the system has been told that that spot on the drive is
available to do with as it will. Your file is on borrowed time...
I accidently deleted about 1½ gig of porn but it was on my J drive way
down the line for regular usage. Whilst
surfing/finding/buying/downloading/installing the file, the drive was
unused.
