Recovery Disks with Vista

We recently bought an HP notebook with Vista. We supposedly can make
recovery disks. I started making the disks with CD's. It burned the first
one, then all the subsequent CD's had verification errors.

Then I read that we really should use DVD+R for recovery disks. One
question is, how do I get it to agree to start over using DVD? And is DVD+R
the way to go for this?

I am open to any suggestions.

After trying with numerous brands of DVD+Rs and mistakes, I gave up and
spent the $15 to have HP send me the Recovery Discs.

Cheap? Does it include a trial Norton or McAffee or any other "goodies"?

Contact HP for assistance with this. The disc creation utility belongs to
them, not to Vista.

Consider using a different brand of discs.

I tried many different brands of DVD+Rs and none of them worked - I just
gave in and sent $15 to HP and had them send me the Recovery Discs.
