Recovery Disk Creation

I cannot make a recovery disk for vista. I think it may be becuase i was
trying to use a dvd-rw disk. I was wondering if anyone knew whether you
can use dvd-rw's to make recovery disks?

Vista does not include a recovery disc creation utility, so your question
should be directed to your PC manufacturer.

I believe it has to be a DVD +R. I have Compaq and the software for a
recovery disk is proprietary to the manufacturer.

yea i know vista does not come with one but i bought a compaq and it
came with one.

yes i have a compaq also and it came with the software to make the disk
i just need to know if there is a certain type of disk i need to use?

Have you checked with your computer manufacturer's technical support folks?
They will know what their software does and does not require.
