Hi,

Encountering the dreaded "c:\windows\system32\config\system"
I'm following (slowly, one step at a time)
Microsoft's : http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307545
So far so good.

I'm in "part two, step 8 encountering a new variable.
About half of the RPx's are in black and the other are in blue.
having to choose one of them (step 9) I wonder what is
this "color coding mean. I feel I should avoid one of them
but which one?

Any idea?

A folder with a blue name means that it and its contents have been compressed.
The ones with black names have not. Using one or the other should not be a
problem. As long as the folder complies to any requirements mentioned in that
article, it's compression status is immaterial.

Good luck

Thanks, Nepatsfan.
The recovery went well.

Blue files are compressed.
