Recovering Lost Files

If files on my computer are lost or missing (picture files, documents, etc.),
will doing a system restore recover those files, or will that only restore
settings? I know this is probably a silly question, but I want to make sure
that I am doing this right.
 
No it won't recover these personal files. System Restore does System
files only.

No, System Restore will restore the system files, registry settings but not
your data.
Try this file recover to retrieve your Pictures:
