1- I encrypted a folder with some files in it
2- I backed up (exported) the certificate (from the "personal" tab) on a
..pfx file
3- I erased the certificate from the computer (Yeah dumb) I thought If I had
the key outside the computer there would be no problem.
4- I imported the certificate again
5- Every thing worked fine until I rebooted. Now I cant access my files!!!!!!!

Help!!

If you imort the certificate again can you access the files?

I have repeated this step several times hoping for a miracle and still no
access.

What could have gone wrong, isnt that the whole purpose of backing up the
certificate with the personal key? so you can access your EFS files back
again? I dont understand what whent wrong!

Any sugestions?

No it isnt, the files are under My Documents and I´m the owner.
I found out on a thread about this excelent little program called Advanced
EFS Data Recovery. It worked like a charm! I got all my files back!

Thank you both for your replys

I am glad you got the files back.
That looks like a useful program to file away.
