has any one had this problem my recover disk wont work and when i use system
restore it will not work.

What if any error messages do you see when trying to either use the Recovery
CD or accessing System Restore?
 
If you have a Compaq Presario system it's the same problem I've had,
where the recovery Disc went bad. Compaq has a Tech Support where you can
order a new Compaq Recovery Disc for about $18.
The Key Code seems to be imbedded in the BIOS and perhaps a certain
number of Recoveries times out the requests on it.
I never would believe that the Recovery Disc would ever go bad but the
error message told me to get in touch with Tech Support.
