recover overwritten file

Hi all, have just saved an old version of excel file
downloaded from an old e-mail by mistake.... which has of
course overwritten the file I want now... can I possibly
find and restore this earlier version.. or has it been
banished forever

Do you have a backup?

Maybe you emailed a copy to someone else (and you have it in your sent folder)?

I think you're out of luck.
