Recover files from server 2003 backup on XP Pro machine

Apologies if this is a repost. Thought I posted yesterday, but can't find
the post.

I have an LTO3 tape containing data files generated by the backup utility on
MS Server 2003. I need to recover these files on my XP machine (XP Pro, ver
2002, SP2). I do not have access to the original MS Server 2003 machine

Is this possible using XP's backup/restore utility?

Are there any tricks/traps/tips I should be aware of?

Many thanks

Do you have the drive? Can't do anything without that. And they're not
cheap.

On one network I admin, there is an IBM LTO drive using Symantec Backup
Exec. If you know someone on a network that has a tape drive, and will
allow you to use it, AND if the same software is used, you can restore
the data to another drive.
