Hi!

I accidentally removed our internet starting homepage
with a lot of links (+tricky html I don't want to redo if
I don't have to) by moving it to a new destiny and then
editing (I meant to copy it but apparently I moved it).
So it hasn't ended up in the trash bin. Can I still
recover it from the original directory in some way? Can I
do a file search for contents of the file or is that
useless? Is there a copy somewhere? (I use notepad for
editing, but I guess notepad does not have a memory for
files that have been edited there)

Help me!!!

Erik

Thanx, the program looks good. I guess however I've got
to give up the hope of recovering moved files. It's
probably impossible. Or am I wrong there?

Please quote the post you are replying to so we know what on earth you are
talking about.

Thankyou.

To me no message shows up without the post it's replying
on above it, so I thought "why include it?"

Well, since you "ask", my problem is the following:
Originally, file A.html resides in catalog X.
I think I copy, but apparently move, A.html to catalog
X\Y, rename to X\Y\B.html and exchange practically all of
its contents.
Question:
Will there be some deleted copy of A.html left in catalog
X, or does a file remain the same file (i.e. still reside
on the same segments on my hard disk) when I move it to a
different catalog?

That's because you are using the web access. if you were using a proper
newsreader, you would see the need for quoting. Most people use a proper
newsreader.

And if you didn't hide read messages you wouldn't keep repeating "Please quote the post you are replying to so we know what on earth you are talking about."

So you have ten thousand headers all showing at the same time?

Plonker!

Most *seasoned* usenet users have "View unread messages only" set in a *high
volume* newsgroup.....

To each his own. Use OE your way and I'll use it my way, but quit trying to impose "your way" on everyone else.

I'm not imposing MY way on everyone else, I think you'll find that your way
is in the minority, certainly for experienced Usenet users.
