Recording a PPT slide show to VHS

I have a Sony VAIO laptop hooked up to my VCR directly with a 3.5mm
plug-to-RCA video cable (laptop video out to VCR video in). When I record my
slide show to VHS, I see this "fading" artifact, where the picture
intermittently darkens and brightens up, cyclically. I would like to not
have this artifact.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Beats me.

Try different
- vhs tapes
- vhs recorder
- lower the brightness of your colors (partcularly reds)
