Recorded TV playback flashes Vista MC

O.K. so I've made the jump to Vista (32 bit) and newly built system. I've
recorded some shows (local Hd channels) and when I go to playback the shows
the screen Dell 24" for lack of a better term (or terminology) flickers like
someone is putting a black filter/white filter on and off. The picture is
still visible so it's more shading than anything else. I've tried the nvidia
drivers and the driver that loaded when I installed Vista. I discussed with
my friend and he's thinking it might be a copy protection issue. I guess the
question of what terminology I should use to google or if anyone else has had
this happen? I don't mind reading so a push in the right direction is always
appreciated.

TIA,
Kenneth

Did more digging found solution. Changed the decoder from the one supplied
with Vista to NVIDIA's PV and everything is right in the world.

Thanks anyways.

I thought nVidia's Pure Video Decoder was not Vista compatible? Have they
released a new Vista version?
