record locking

I looked at the responces to record locking, but all I need to do is check to
see if a record as been locked by another user. Thier must be away to check
to see if the current record is locked, then I can handle it. I will be
running the database with runtime access 2007. At the present time if I open
a record that is opened by another user then try to edit it, the application
bails. I know that I can turn edited record locking off and just go for it,
but that means that someone will lose thier changes.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

As long as you have it set to edit the locked records, Access 2007
seems to deal with that pretty well. It does not let you edit a record
already being edited and it places a stop sign in the record selector (if
showing) if you try to edit it and it is currently being edited. Or, if you
are on a record that was edited by someone else, while you were just sitting
there and they you try to modify it, it warnss you and reloads the record
before you can then edit it.
