Record from 3-4 webcams?

I am looking for a freeware program that can record in some movie format
(mp3,avi or similar) from 3-4 webcams into different files.

have you tried simply propagating multiple instances of your cam software?
(trans: opening the same pgm again for each cam) (sorry, just couldn't
resist the opportunity for verbose obfuscation)
some pgms let you (ie IE, Windows Explorer) others won't (ie XNews just
assumes "hey, already running)
