record deletion - mdb size

Running a program that archives files and removes records from the .md
file, however after completion the .mdb file does not decrease in siz
but the records do not display if .mdb file opened in access??
Opened the .mdb file in access and deleted 10,000 records from 30,00
records, however the .mdb file is still the same size??
Are there some settings that must be set to permanently delete th
records. Do not know anything about databases. Can anyone help.

Hi
Go to tools->Database Utilities->Compact & repair
that should adjust the size correctly
Toolbar options maybe different if not A2K
