Recommendation for "Opportunities" window

When adding new "Opportunities", we're prompted with the "type" of
opportunity, and the "sales stage". I would like to be able to add new
"types" or new "stages". Sometimes, there are special circumstances that are
hard to fit into the current regiment... and if you are doing searches
through a very large database of opportunities, unless I can be very
specific, it makes it hard to find what I'm looking for.

Part of our business involves long-term customers who call us because
they are looking for used items. Often, they are willing to wait for long
periods of time until we have these things because they prefer to buy from
us. I would like to put these in as "Opportunities"... maybe as "In need
of...", or something along those lines.

Alternately, I would like to group customers who have products they would
like us to sell for them into their own custom "type" and "sales stage" as
well. This way, I can use the "find" function in the "Opportunities" window
to search the two custom fields for matches... I can link up sellers with
buyers!

Please make this possible. I beleive adding the ability to add our own
"type", and "sales stage" would help with this. Maybe, someone else has some
ideas as well... maybe there is a better way to search this? Maybe I should
be using a different function in the program to do what I need, but I haven't
been able to find it.

If not, this seems like a great addition to a great program.

Thanks,

I notice that a suggestion titled "Recommendation for "Opportunties" window"
requests these enhancements. Why not vote for it? I'm going to.

By the way, implementing the Business Contact window in the Opportunities
form also opens the possibility of automatically including emails in the
Opportunity History as suggested under "How do I get emails to show up in the
opportunities history."
