Recognize Unrecognized Hard disk?

I just got a new hard disk and installed Win2kPro on it. All the work
on the new disk was with the old one disconnected.

The old HD was a 60GB drive with 20GB partitions with Win98 2nd ed.
and I believe that it is formatted as FAT32.

I can use either physical HD ok if alone. But when I attach the old
HD as a slave with the new HD as master, Win2kPro does not recognize
any drive letters. Both HDs are evident in CMOS, and Computer
Management/Storage/Disk Management shows the second HD as a single
primary partition of ~60GB, but no drive letters are assigned.

How can I use the second drive under Win2kPro without deleting the
Win98 primary partition or reformatting?

Thanks,

Doug

It appears to me that you have a "dynamic drive overlay"
installed on the old 60GB hard drive. Something like "Disk
Manager" or "Partition Manager" This could make your drive
appear as one large unformatted drive. Try booting with a
DOS diskette when both drive are installed. If you cannot
acces the second, 60GB, drive. This is more than likely
your problem.
