Reclaim missing space

I have a Windows 2000 Server with a 4 GB boot partition (C
drive). It is running SP4, and I use Backup Exec for
backing up the server.

From time to time the C drive will lose disk space like 30-
40 MB in a night. Also, when I run a "diruse" utility, the
total space adds up to 3.3 GB, but when I check the
property of the C drive, it shows 3.8 GB use. So,
somewhere I am missing about 500 MB of space. I read an
article on backup copies for directory services log not
getting truncated, which is supposedly fixed in SP2.

Has anyone had any issues like this? Any input will be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Tito

Treesize is a good tool indeed. Tells me the wasted space
on my drive.

But in this case, Treesize reported 3.3 gb used, only 8 MB
wasted. Still when I do a C drive properties I am seeing
3.8 GB used, and only 200 MB free.

Hmmm - are you concerned with reporting inaccuracies? I thought perhaps
TreeSize could tell you where your disk space was being used up without your
knowledge......

I am more concerned about the 500 MB that I am missing. I
am trying to clean up files, and cannot figure out which
files are using this 500 MB of space.

OK - that's where I'd start looking at Treesize, as it will tell you which
folders have what. :-)
