Recently used files

When I click on File, the drop down menu appears with what
is supposed to be my most recently used files. They are
not. What do I do to have excel show the most recently
opened files?

Tools/Options/General.
Check "Recently Used Files List" and give it a number.

Another possibility is that you may have the program,
Tweakui, which allows for clearing the history of recently
used files.

You don't say which version of Excel. Earlier versions did not include the
files on the MRU if they were opened externally. i.e. NOT from File>Open, but
perhaps from Explorer.
