Recently Used File Lists

I am using Office XP on Windows XP Home Ed. I am the
administrator. When I use Word, I do not have a recently
used file list and when I go to Tools>Options, the option
is greyed out under the General Tab. However, other
users do have this feature - my wife, who also has
administrator functions, and my daughter, who has a
limited account. How can I get a recently used file list
for myself? Thanks

The most common explanations for a missing or disabled MRU list are (a)
using Word as the email editor in Outlook, which flushes the MRU list, and
(b) using TweakUI to suppress the MRU list on the Windows Start menu, which
carries over to Word.

I can't see a setting in TweakUI that would account for
this, but yes I do use Outlook as the e-mail editor, but
so does my wife from the same shared Inbox and she
doesn't have this problem.

I've never used TweakUI, but I've heard these settings referred to as the
"paranoia" settings (insuring your privacy by not displaying any file
history).

Thank you Suzanne, I found it under the Explorer Tab in
TweakUI.

Thanks for your help.
