Recent items

I have a check in the box under the start menu properties but it is not
capturing recently opened items. Anyone run into this. Not a big deal but
it's got me buggy...

Control panel>>Appearance and Personalization>>TaskBar and Start Menu>>Start
Menu Tab>>Check what you want (there are two options).

A little hint for a shorter way....
Right click Taskbar, select Properties, select Start Menu tab.

I know...I did the shorter way Store and list recently opened files is
checked...Yet, still empty. All the time. And I have opened TONS of files.
Don't get it
