Clearing "Recent Items"

I use to be able to right click on "Recent Items" and one of the menu
options was to clear recent items. For some reason recently that option
isn't on the menu. Don't know if it is some option I didn't know I changed
or something that Microsoft did away with as part of one of their recent
'updates'. Anyone else having this problem?

Its there on mine. Have you tried disabling the option in the start menu and
then re-enabling it to see if that brings the option back?

Right click on the taskbar and select Properties. In the taskbar and start
menu properties window click the start menu tab. Remove the check mark from
the 'store and display a list of recently opened files' then press ok.

After you have done this re-open the taskbar and start menu properties
window and re-enable the option.

1. Right Click on Recent Items and select Explore. This will
take you to the Folder. You can delete the "contents" of the
Recent Items folder and the Recent Items list will be clear.

2. If the Folder is YELLOW (normal looking folder) Delete
it in Explorer. Start Menu - in Search Box type Shell:recent
Then logoff and re-log on. Or reboot. This will put the
Clear Recent Items back on the Right Click Menu. The
problem with this is on my system it will not stay there.
Possibly because I use a 3rd party Explorer replacement.

3. Add the Recent Folder to CCleaner and when you run
it the contents will be deleted and the Recent List will be
blank or clean. Put the path in Include Section.

C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Recent\*.*

is mine.
