recent douments - clearing some but not all

can you clear some but not all of the recent documents list? in prior
windows version you could hold ctrl while you clicked whatever you wanted to
clear and then hit delete once for all the highlighted documents. that does
not appear to work in xphome, so for each document you want to delete (unless
you want to delete them all), you have to hit start - recent - highlight -
delete, for EACH ONE. what a pain. tell me there is another way,
please!!!!

Open the hidden folder "recent documents" and delete the shortcuts.

Use Folder Options, View to show hidden folders.

C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Recent Documents
