Start>Run and type

regedit

navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Create a REG_DWORD called MaxRecentDocs and enter a Decimal value not a
Hexadecimal Value.
