Receiving some mail in Windows mail and some in Outlook 2007

I recently purchased the standard office suite .As i use outlook at
work i decided to transfer from windows mail on my home PC to outlook
2007 .I thought i had followed the instructions correctly to export an
account from windows mail to outlook 2007 .I have left windows mail on
my PC .I am now receiving different mail in both WM and O2007 .There
doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which mail goes where.
I am also constantly being requested to supply my network password
even though i am checking the box for it to be saved.Any answers/
solutions? .I am operating Windows Vista
