When i get a picture emailed to me in outlook express the picture shows
up in the email but when i get the same email in outlook 2003 the
picture shows up as an attachment and i have to click to see what it is.
My question is why does it do that and how can i get the pictures to
show up in outlook 2003 like they do in outlook express. Any help would
be appreciated. Rob

It does it because Outlook Express is being extra nice to you and showing
attachments as though they were embedded. Outlook, on the other hand,
always shows attachments as attachments.

You can't.

Outlook 2007 provides this feature but not previous versions of Outlook.

I will go buy outlook 2007 then. Do I have to change any settings or
will it just do it? Thanks Again Rob

The first time you receive a security warning for every supported
extension for the preview. If you uncheck the checkbox "Always warn
before preview files with this extension" (or similar; I have no english
Outlook) the attachment will be previewd with one single click on it.

Under [1] you see a screenshot of a german Outlook 2007.

Please, also notice that in the moment only following file types are
supported for preview in Outlook 2007:

- Elements of Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
- Microsoft Office Word 2007 documents
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 präsentations
- Sheets of Microsoft Office Excel 2007
- Drawings of Microsoft Office Visio 2007
- Image and text files

If you also want to preview pdf-files in Outlook 2007 -- the preview of
PDFs are not supported by default -- you have to install an add-in [1].
But notice that it only works with Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista.

That's quite the same add-in I have mentioned!?

I don't think so. The one you mentioned is for Outlook 2007 on Vista and
does not require Acrobat Reader. The one DIane mentions will also run on XP
and does require Acrobat Reader.
