Receiving invitations from Mac OS X - Entourage

I am unable to receive calendar events from Mac users (entourage). All I receive is an e-mail - it does not post onto the calendar. Going the other direction seems to work fine (Outlook XP to Entourage). Is it possible to send an event from Entourage to XP without having an exchange server or ical

Entourage uses iCal, but there are some discrepancies in the way the
different products handle iCal/vCal invitations. If you post an iCal item
typical of what you're getting, we might be able to give you some tips on
what to tell the Entourage senders.
