I am using MS Office outlook 2003 with my POP mail account in my laptop(OS-
Windows XP Professional). I get duplicate mail from some email IDs ( 4-6
copies of same mail in my inbox); not from all email IDS.

I did not have any such problem in my desktop (OS Windows 2000) where I am
using MSOffice Outlook 2000.

Please let me know how to resolve this problem.

Before doing a mail poll using Outlook, have you checked your mailbox
using the e-mail provider's webmail pages to check if there are really 4
to 6 six copies of the incoming message sitting in your mailbox? If so,
well, then they sent you 4 to 6 copies and that's what you get. If
there is only 1 copy of their message and then you do a mail poll that
shows 4 to 6 copies then one cause of the problem is that you have the
mail poll interval set far too short, like 1 minute. Set it to 5
minutes between scheduled mail polls. If you still get multiple copies
with a longer mail poll interval, try disabling all your rules to see if
they might be screwing up (because of improper definitions in them).

Created the same rule multiple times. Removing duplicate rule solve the
problem.
