Sometimes Sygate lags my system and internet connection.

Can anyone recommend a firewall that's a little "lighter"? Thanks.

Forgot to mention I have XP Home SP2 (I'd use the Windows firewall, but it
doesn't have outbound protection.)

OutPost

I use to use ZoneAlarm, but too bulky, I now use OutPost for my firewall
usese only 7MB compared to ZA 11MB

I downloaded outpost and tried it. It blocked all access to the
internet regardless of my settings. When I went to the website to
troubleshoot I discovered that the free version is known for having this
problem with xp and that it works better with earlier versions of
windows. I'm back to zonealarm and still looking for a firewall that
hogs less resources.

Kerio version 2

Kerio got too cumbersome for me, with the lists of blocked sites. I like
the Sygate rules system, but it's got a limit of 20 of them, and it is a
bit heavy on the resources, especially when used in conjunction with
Avast antivirus. At least, this has been my experience on a Win ME 720
MHA system & DSL.

My Sygate flunked the "Tooleaky" ultra-nasty firewall tester.
Overall, this combo hasn't been good on my box. For a lighter firewall,
I'm looking myself.
