Reboots for unknown reasons. Please someone help.

My computer has started to reboot on its own and it is getting more
frequent. It also will not reboot sometimes and I have to spend
several minutes hiting the switch over and over. I have ran virus
checker, worm and trojan checkers, scandisk, defraged and even
cleaned the inside of the case from dust bunnies. I also ran MEMTEST86
for a few passes and it checked out ok. So does anyone have any other
ideas on what/how to check else??

p.s. I have only have this computer for 11 months :-(

my system is described below

CPU AMD|2500+/333 Athlon XP Barton
Connect 3d|Radeon 9600 128M DVI/TV video card
DDRAM 256MG|DDR400 CL25 PC3200 Kingston X2 = 512 Megs o ram
HD 80GB|WD 7200RPM 8mb cache

Hi,
First candidates for problems to consider are cpu overheating, then PSU
going bad. First check your temps for the cpu in your bios . If OK then try
substituting a known good PSU. This would be followed by faulty RAM (though
you say that's fine) and then from my view a bad peripheral or even a
graphics card. Disconnect floppy, hard drives, and CD-ROM units and simply
let the unit sit to see if the rebooting keeps. If not, then add on one
peripheral at a time and observe.You suggest a virus. I suppose that's
possible but I don't have experience with that occuring, myself.

uncheck or turn off the automatic restartunder:

control panel
system
advanced
startup and recovery

now, do you get a blue screen??.....if so, what does it say.

I had a similar problem last week however my board was new. It turned
out the default jumpers for the FSB were placed incorrectly by the
manufacturers.
Obviously your machine has been working fine for 11 weeks so this is
not your answer however the symptoms you describe are exactly the same
Have you adjusted your FSB settings or CPU settings recently?
You could also try clearing the CMOS then load standard defaults.
