Hi, I need help my pc will not boot up after I replaced my old monitor with a
new one, all it does is going into booting up mode and as soon as the windows
screen comes on it goes back to re-start it does this over and over I cannot
get it to start at all to do anything with it. I have reconnected the old
monitor back but it makes no difference. I am using xp home edition, Is
reformatting the disk the only option at this stage, I have tried to get it
started on safe mode or on the last known working configuration but it still
keeps on going back to restart over and over. Please help me I am not very
computer versed. Thank you
Elly

It is very, very unlikely that the replacement of your monitor caused
the problem you describe. It was pure coincidence that it happened
at this very time.

Since you can boot neither into Safe Mode nor into Last Know Good
Configuration, you have to attempt a repair installation. Set your BIOS
so that your CD drive is the primary boot device, then boot the PC
with your WinXP installation CD and select Repair when prompted.

also check to make sure none of the pins are bent- causing a problem....I
had a bent pin once- touching the outside shielding- caused problem booting-
no safe mode available.
