Is it a notebook or a desktop PC?
I haven't had that problem with desktops, but some older Compaq and Dell
(and probably other) notebooks would do that after a system update like with
a service pack. The solution was to reinstall the manufacturer's power
management software.
You haven't provided any information to help us diagnose your problem.
It's most likely to be a hardware issue and most likely to mean your
power supply needs to be replaced.
Looks like the problem was resolved after I disabled the WOL feature on my
network card.
