Rearranging clips

How do I change the clips around on the storyboard? I have already put about
20 clips on there but now I want to take out the first one and substitute it
with a different clip..When I do this it makes the ones next to it jump in
its space. How do I change the order of the clips without messing up all the
others? thanks..
