Reapply the same formats(size, position) to many pictures in PPT

I need to insert a long series of pictures into several powerpoint
presentations. I have been formatting each picture by hand. I'd like to
select one photo, and use its settings for each picture in the series.

I've tried using the "Format Painter" but it doesn't work for this, or I'm
not using it correctly.

I prefer to use the 'pick up' and 'apply stlye' tool. This tools can by
found by 'customizing the toolbar'

It's the pipette symbols.

That'll let you set the size and position, but this is a LOT more useful:
