Reappearing Icons & Folders

I have problems with Desktop Icons & Folders I have
deleted reappearing even though I have system restore
turned off.

Can Anyone help

Hi

What do you use instead of System Restore - an imaging program? SR doesn't run unless invoked, so the reappearing icons has nothing to with SR in any case. What kind of Icons/Folders are they? Have you run the following programs to see if they is any spyware on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Some Folders and Icons are used by the system and can't be deleted just by
using the delete function.. download Tweakui for XP.. there are functions in
there that will enable you to complete your task..
