I updated from R166, and now I do not get the system tray icon, or the icon
in Control Panel for the Realtek sound control panel. Is this happening for
you too? I've rebooted twice and still cannot get into it.
Do NOT work for me either. After installing the updated drivers, I had NO
sound at all. I did have the icon and the control panel for the sound, but
NO sound.
Run the driver download again. It seems that the first run only removes the
older drivers and then the second run will install the newer drivers.
I always manually uninstall the older drivers, including deleting driver files,
and uninstall the Realtek Audio Manager in Programs and Features first, reboot,
and then install the newer drivers and have never had a problem.
This is the first update where I can really hear the difference - great
improvement!! Thanks for the notice.
