I have installed RealOne player on my XP computer. When
I attempt to launch to program in completely crashes my
system. Has anyone been able to make this program work
and how?

Thank you in advance.

I can't stand to use Real's products. i suggest uninstalling it, as this is
not an opition for everyone, you could also contact Real for help. This is
a Windows XP Newsgroups, you need to ask Real for help with their products,
not Microsoft.

I think this is an appropriate group for this question.
After all, this newsgroup is windowsxp.general, not
windowsxp.and.nothing.else!

In order to post a helpful reply, we need more information
from you. Do you get an error message when your system
crashes? If so, post the entire error message, including
the error ID number if there is one. Also, it helps to
know what kind of system you are using and how much memory
you have. For instance, I am writing this on an IBM
NetVista, with 384MB RAM and a PIII 933Mhz processor.

Also, which version of Windows XP do you have? What kind
of video and sound cards?

I bet you didn't think it would be so complicated.

Go get Jet Audio's free RealPlayer replacement. I've been using it for
several months now and haven't found any streaming audio it won't play that
RealAudio will.

And....it doesn't load down your system with all the intrusive crap that
Real does.

Thank you all for your help. I have solved the problem.
I needed to update my aspi32 driver. Everything works
great now.

Hi Cleffnote,

I was having similar problems. Everytime I tried connecting to a real
video using RealOne Player my Windows XP PC crashed. Investigations at
Real.com reveal that there is a problem with Radeon Video Cards.

Opening RealOne Player, selecting Tools->Preferences->Hardware->Video
Card Compatibilty and changing the setting from Best Performance to
Most Reliable solves the problem.

If this doesn't help you try the link below.
